The first loco to be built at Vulcan works the Tayleur circa 1831
 
 
 
The first passenger loco to run in Japan. This loco was in service for 56 years and today resides in the museum of transport in Tokyo
 
 
 
250 light infantry tanks where produced by the works and saw action fighting in Flanders and North Africa
 
 
In 1936 the works developed and produced the 'Waltzing Matilda' tank. 600 of these where produced for the war office.
 
 
 A modern day view of Sankey Viaduct built in 1830 by George Stephenson. The viaduct is grade 1 listed and is the oldest railway viaduct in the country.
